So, you’ve been put in charge of your child’s school fundraiser, but you don’t know where to start? Penning a school fundraiser letter to teachers and fellow parents can be a great starting point if you follow some simple guidelines. When doing a direct mail fundraising letter, be sure to make a compelling case in simple terms and highlight the reasons why this fundraiser is important for the good of the entire school and all of the students. For example, if you’re raising money for the school choir, point out the importance of the arts in the educational system. Be polite, be persuasive, and be clear about requesting funds for your school organization. Here is a sample school fundraiser letter:
Welcome back to another exciting year at Morgan Elementary School. This is the time of year when the school band conducts its annual “Bring The Music Back” fundraiser to raise money for the fall music festival. The money that we raise this year will go towards not only the wonderful fall music concert, but this years’ school district competitions, and new band equipment.
Every dollar that we raise this year will go to support our band students and their exciting endeavors this year. As you know, budgets continue to be tight this year, and these students need our help. Supporting the arts in school, like school band, choir, and theater, is critical to the success of these programs and gives our children the chance to follow their dreams and continue to participate in programs that inspire enthusiasm and higher learning.
This year, the school band will be hosting a bake sale and a car wash to raise money for their “Bring The Music Back” campaign. We are asking for a variety of donation methods this year, and would love to be able to count on your help and support. There are several ways for people to help and donate this year. In addition to accepting financial donations, we are looking for parent volunteers to help support the kids during this event.
Also, of course, showing financial support during these events would be appreciated too. The car wash event will take place on January 20th and the bake sale will kick off on January 28th. If you are interested in making a donation, simply include your donation in the card and envelope enclosed.
Thank you for your continued and generous support, and we look forward to seeing you at our events. Please call me directly at (insert number) if you have any questions.
