Hosting a silent auction can be an entertaining and fun way to raise funds for your non-profit organization. There are a number of ways to solicit donations from sponsors, but one of the most effective methods may be writing and sending out a silent auction donation letter. There are a number of formats that you can use when writing a charity auction donation letter, but it’s important to remember to make a solid plan about what you want to request from your donors, and following up with your letter recipients is key. Here is a great fundraising letter template for a charity auction:

Dear {Insert Name},

I am contacting you to request a silent auction gift card donation for Women’s League Of Tomball (WLTG) group. As you may know, WLTG is a non-profit organization that supports women’s projects in the Tomball area. We work directly with various organizations in the area to improve and beautify our community. We are organizing a silent auction that will take place at Tomball Restaurant on July 15th, and would be overjoyed if we could include a gift card from your lovely spa in our silent auction.

We thought of your business immediately when we were working to find potential donors. As I’m sure you know, our members are your target demographic and many of our members already patronize your spa on a regular basis. We believe that a gift card from your spa would receive many bids.

Should you decide to donate a gift card to our WLTG silent auction, you can be rest assured that your money will be put to good use. We use donations to do things like work to beautify community parks and green spaces, plant flowers and trees in the area, offer scholarships to local students, and more. I will be following up with you next week by phone, but in the meantime if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at {insert number}. Thank you for your time and consideration of our organization.
