The holidays are one of the best times to launch a fundraiser thanks to the collective spirit of generosity and excitement that fills the air during the Christmas season. A Christmas fundraising letter can be a great way to get people involved in donating to your organization and it can be sent via regular mail or you can even send it electronically through email. If you’re working on a fundraising letter for Christmas, here is a sample Christmas fundraising letter to get you started:
It’s the season of fun and laughter, cheer, presents and glittering Christmas lights. Sadly, though, not every person will have cause to celebrate this year. In the city of Houston, there are more than 5,000 homeless people who will be forced to sleep in the streets this Christmas due to overcrowding in the local shelters.
Our organization, On A Mission, offers valuable services to help homeless families. This year, we are starting our annual coat and blanket drive early in the hopes that we can reach our goal of 1,000 coats and blankets.
We are asking that local citizens donate their unwanted or unneeded coats and blankets to those in need this year. The winter air is getting more frigid and it’s frightening to think that so many people will have to suffer the elements this Christmas when there are people who can help.
If you can’t provide donated items, On A Mission will accept monetary donations and will purchase the equivalent in blankets and warm weather supplies for families in need. For as little as $20, you can help a family have a warmer Christmas this year.
Coming up in January, we will be hosting our winter food drive as well, and hope that we can work with you to help keep families in need warm and clothed this winter. Please review our enclosed donation form for more information or visit our website. Thanks for your help and generosity this holiday season and Merry Christmas!
